Study Notes on ENG 366: Victorian and Edwardian Poetry evaluates the achievements of English verse-writers from 1830 to 1890, beginning from Alfred Tennyson to Robert Browning. It looks at the changes in intellectual as well as poetic lines necessitated by socio-political, economic and cultural factors within the period. Other poets studied include Matthew Arnold, Hood, Chesterton, Thomas Hardy, Rudyard Kipling, Houseman and the Pre-Raphaelites. Their connection with the Romantic Movement is also be emphasized.
