Major General Farouk Yahaya Appointed The New Chief Of Army Staff. Federal Republic of Nigeria

21th of May 2021, was a black Friday for Nigerians, as the country lost its formal Chief of Army Staff late Ibrahim Attahiru who died in a plane crash, along with other 10 military personnel. It was indeed a sad story the West African Nigeria
But as the saying goes in Nigeria that soldiers go, soldiers come, but the barrack still remains. the federal government of Nigeria has begun to fill up the positions that left a vacuum and they are starting right away with the Position of COAS
President Buhari has appointed Major General Farouk Yahaya as the new Chief of Army Staff (COAS)
The newly appointed Chief of Army staff was the General Officer Commanding 1 Division of the Nigerian Army and the incumbent Theatre Commander of the Counterterrorism Counter Insurgency military outfit in the North East code-named Operation HADIN KAI.
Before his appointment to the above-mentioned position, Yahaya was Commander of 4 Brigade Headquarters of the Nigerian Army.
Major General F. Yahaya was born on the 5th of January, 1966 in Zamfara state, Sifawa in present-day Boginda LGA.
Major General Farouk has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and a Masters Degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy.
He is married with children. and hence front from this day 27th May 2021 he is the current Chief of Army Staff (COAS) the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Harnie Gold reporting from AfriNOTES
