Decisions made through your actions and inactions culminate the totality of your life on earth. The mind is the collective part of our intellect and consciousness.
It is the will or the ability to take the actions you need to take when you are required to make them. Make up your mind or make your mind up means to decide what to choose.
We are the only living beings on the surface of the earth that have the privilege to exist as free moral agents. The celestial, terrestrial and aquatic living things do not have the same opportunity.
Thus we can act based on our desires or inclinations. A computer works based on its written codes and programs while an animal works based on the in-built DNA it possesses.
They cannot work innovatively or creatively in an absolute sense. Their deeds are limited by their make-up instincts.
As free moral agents, we are at liberty to utilize our intelligence relative to our choices without any form of compulsion. We can choose what we want or take a desired course of action which goes to say we do have the willpower to make decisions whether right or wrong in life
These decisions ultimately affect our outcomes and consequences subsequently. ‘Be free men, and yet do not make your freedom an excuse for base conduct, but by God: 1 Peter 2:16
God’s attributes of love, fairness, and equity to all of us are proven by his scriptural counsels and open room given to make personal choices. This great love lavished on us is full of benefits that will profit us both in time and eternity.
Thus the freedom we have the right to should not be based on selfish inclinations but rather eternal benefits to the kingdom. Unfortunately, many people make wrong choices in life while some don’t even care to make up their minds on critical matters of life at all.
Yet there are still others that take decisions too late as a result of procrastination and consequently experience failure and defeat.
Procrastination has many unwanted repercussions; it leads to poverty, lack, want, marital collapse, academic failure, the raising of ungodly/wayward children, loss of job, loss of life, depression, and worse of all, the eternal damnation of the soul among so many other consequences
It is of utmost emphasis to note that there are matters of urgent attention in life that do not require any form of delay at all. For example, in Matthew 5:23-24, Jesus admonished us to be quick in settling matters with our adversaries.
No matter how displeasing and painful it might be, we must never stall making taking quick actions that bring peace. We must deal with our anger and pride without procrastination so the devil doesn’t have a loophole to come in and operate in our lives.
The sharing of the gospel is so urgent that we must not procrastinate on this subject matter. There are so many who died and lost their souls because a close friend or relative had pushed into the future the decision to preach the gospel.
Winning the lost is so important that there is no time to waste. While there are so many others who have pushed into the future the opportunity to accept Christ into their lives and never got to see it because it became too late
Salvation is for the now just as it is written in 2 Corinthians 6:2b; Behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of
salvation.’ And in Hebrews 3:7-8; For this reason, as the Holy Spirit warns us
Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as your forefathers did in the time of the provocation on the day of the temptation in the Desert.’
