My First Attempt Traveling To The United States Of America
Today let me share my top stories, the process began late in the year 2019, by the early second month of 2020, everything up and we were good to go. I was happy, silently entertaining some level of fear, though I was not going alone, with the responsibilities of two people single and mentally on me alone
Then came the eve of 2020. In 2020 a lot happened not just to me, globally to millions of people, the world around us, and humanity was put to test, in my end, I learn a lot from that singly year alone and it was indeed a year of memories and surprises
One thing a learned in 2020 is that freedom of speech is a big scam and if you are a content creator, blogger, YouTuber, social media influencer, please be mindful of the contents you put up online
Don’t come and be saying is my right to speak on this or that, Freedom of speech is a fraud, is dead, be mindful of those in power before standing against them
All in the name of, ”FREEDOM OF SPEECH” globally there is no freedom in the world, the strong oppress the weak, learn from the outbreak of Covid, no one is asking how it becomes. all journalist who has attempted to investigate how Covid became are either dead, mentally unstable or jailed
You see, I have worked hard, save a lot of money while pursuing my American dream, so in 2019 I started processing my immigration Visa
Everything was working well, with me alone carrying the responsibilities of two people, so it became harder for me, but God pave away and all thing sup for my good
My work as a developer has helped me a lot, connecting me to high profile individuals and companies, locally and internationally, in which I return the glory and thanks to God alone, for giving me such a flexible career
I have worked as a developer for years, developing both mobile apps and websites for some local and international clients, which have enabled me to build trust and connections with my various customers worldwide
I have work for both individuals and company, that I now have trusted friends in all the states in Nigeria, I also have trusted friends across the international communities
99% of these people have not seen me and I have also not met with them physically, we mostly talk on phones and our meeting and working has always been virtual
I have done project for the United States representatives in the past that I was never aware of the high profile personality I was working, the project went well, the finishing touch was world-class and delivery was on timing, they were satisfied and we became trusted friends
So fast forward to My first attempt traveling to the United States of America
I started moving to secure Visa to the land of my dream, mind you, Nigeria remains my home country, with corrupt politicians, the bad government of all time,
I remain loyal to my country Nigeria, am still proud of my Nigeria, but hate the politicians who have made life in this part of the world horrible
We are a great and talented people, our collective problem is just the bad government, so the son of man wants to leave for now ”to build up” my career and make more connections out there.
So I began to process my Visa, then I discover that as an Africa Nigerian you need to spend time in front of the United States Embassy in Victoria Island in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.
There, you come face to face with “prayer warriors”, mobile pastors who pray fervently for applicants right before their visa interviews.
I still do not understand why there are always there, possible for the good of the Visa applicants. Nigeria as a religious country, anything that goes wrong is blamed on the devil, village people, and one enemy, so one has to be prayerful or pay “prayer warriors”, to do the work of praying for them.
The United States Embassy in Victoria Island in Lagos was a great place, with funny happenings, hands-on applicants, head-on calls, mouth on a prayer
The prayer warriors there will work up to you and tell you how they heard directly from God, and if you like, they will help you to get in touch with him
Yes, these ‘Pastors’ believe they can talk to God to “touch the heart” of the interviewer.
So because we all love and respect the name of God, in most cases, I find myself accepting their prayer request, The prayer is always loud, full of good things, good words, and normally ends with a very loud “Amen! Amen! Amen!”
The pastor will now ask for seed, he is paid in the form of money gifting, he then wishes me well. you as an applicant is blessed “blessings will follow you” and
He told me the interview will work in my favor, everything you touch will honor the one and only true God, where ever you go, any destinations you travel to, unmerited favor will locate you
Because I love the words am hearing, I was moved to off him more gifting in cash, he was happy, I was happy and in good spirit, so I proceed to have my scheduled interview
The Pastor left and waits for the next “customers”, someone in need of prayers before the critical interview also, It’s a normal event in Africa Nigeria.
My interview at the United States Embassy in Victoria Island in Lagos went successfully, weeks later I was called again, email documents were wired to me, that my Visa is ready, I was happy, everything going so well, then came the Covid that lead to a global pandemic.
For you reading me, possible you are reading from Africa, know too well that for an African to apply for asylum in the United States, they first have to reach American soil. 99.9 percent of Africans never reach American soil as they need to secure visas.
99.9 percent of Africans who apply for U.S. visas are always denied. Then another 99.9 percent of Africans who struggle to make ends meet cannot afford the escalating visa fees or even pay for flights.
Africans who are brave, first fly to South America, especially Ecuador or Mexico, and travel north by land. though the Covid came almost stop my movement.
But I was able to leave and have arrived in Mexico when the luck down set in. with me carrying two people responsibilities, we have no choice but to make our way back home.
It was not easy, but lovely, our movement has been legal with just one step from Mexico to the United States, we were called by the united state embassy official, after a long talk we were issued a legal return back home due to escalating fear associated with the pandemic at that time.
The journey was perilous, the journey into the United States from there. Most people are robbed, men and girls are raped, many are scammed of their hard-earned money
Few got depressed, few die depending on the route one chooses to traverse, yes people die from hunger or thirst. Most never reach American soil.
Because of corrupt Africa leaders who have failed woefully in developing African nations, Former President Donald J. Trump made things worse for Africans.
He made the refugee admissions cap for Africans crashed to almost zero under his watch. These refugee admissions were made open when the white were coming to Africa, to kidnap, buy and hijack Africa nationals, take them to the United States and place them in the refugee admission where other white nationals come and buy them as slaves
But now gone was the time when Africans were being snatched from their families and forced into a journey of no return, eventually ending up as slaves in the United States for hundreds of years.
Trump was quoted as saying that he preferred asylum seekers from Norway where almost everybody is white. Africans are mostly Black and “live in huts”, he said.
With several African nations banned from applying for visas then, you can’t blame Trump for the refugee admissions cap down to zero, only but to blame the failed Africa leaders, very inhumane form of people
Today it appeared that the United States had abandoned a continent in love with the United States. President Joseph R. Biden Jr. then defeated Donald J.Trump last year in November 2020, he was sworn into office on January 20, 2021, even though Trump incited an insurrection into the U.S. Capitol, and began to dismantle what was labeled as hate and racism.
Biden has now restored visa applications for Africans, as I write to you, President Biden has also increased the refugee admissions cap from the 15,000 left by Trump to 62,500 in total, with 22,000 spots reserved for Africans. To that more Africans are set to leave the continent for sure
