Vice President Kamala Harris: “My mother, Shyamala Gopalan Harris, came to this country with a dream: to cure cancer. She became a breast cancer scientist and worked for decades in the lab to advance the fight against the deadly disease.
It was a shock when she told us in 2008 that she was diagnosed with colon cancer—and great sadness when passed away a year later. I miss her every day. I know the President, First Lady, and so many Americans understand that loss.
My mother wouldn’t want us to give up on her dream. President Joe Biden and I believe we are closer to a cure than ever before. On this World Cancer Day, we are committed to supporting the scientists, researchers, and health care workers who devote their lives—as my mother did—to helping fight this disease. Together, we can put an end to cancer.

The world cancer day 2021 theme is titled: I Am And I Will, even as the world’s most scientists work day and night to find the final solution to all cancer-related cases.
We all should always recognize that our commitment to act will lead to powerful progress in reducing the global impact of cancers
This 4th February whoever you are, your actions be it big or small will make a lasting positive change in finding final solutions and progress to creating world cancer-free world
