Theophilus Ugwu has been sentenced to death for illegally transporting 5.92 kg of a drug called Methamphetamine from Cambodia into Vietnam.
Ugwu a 23 years old Nigerian, who left Nigeria for Vietnam to play football, a career part he may never behold again as he was caught trafficking drug and was sentenced to death on Tuesday, May 25 2021 by the People’s Court of Tay Ninh province for transporting narcotics in the said country. Multiple local news media in Vietnam and International media has reported the sad news, including most of the officials Vietnam online portal, Thanh Nien, reports that on the evening of March 8, 2020, at the White Bridge post in Rung Dau Hamlet, Tien Thuan Commune, Ben Cau District, Tay Ninh Province, the Drug Crime Investigation Team of the H.Ben Cau Police Department coordinated with the Border Guard Station Moc Bai International Security Bureau caught Theophilus Ugwu illegally transporting narcotics from Cambodia to Vietnam, he was arrested and now has been official announced to have been sentenced to death in prison for trafficking drugs.
