There is no future in the past, Let it go and move on
Dear friend you see
Many people today are held down not by their village people, not by the corrupt leaders in Africa Nigeria, but by their past, living in the past and inabilities for them to let go of some of these memories
You that is reading me from Nigeria should please pay good attention to what am about to say here, believe me, you are going to love it, as long as you can comprehend
NOW: For those reading me outside Africa Nigeria, you see, where I come from, Nigeria, there are more poor people when compared to poor itself
Imagine where a high percentage of people from this part of the world are raised in a ‘poor home.’ That most of us tend to see it as a negative thing.
When we remember our upbringing, we say things like I grew up poor, I was raised in public housing, I was raised in a poor village without electricity, or in the city full of jungle life

We were 8, 5, 12, or 17 in family number, living in one flat with mama selling in a local market and papa being a driver, the government of my country Nigeria was so corrupt that we the masses are not getting anything from them
We face human right abuses daily for being poor as the societal policies in my country only worship the rich
You see some days, normally we did not have breakfast or bread to eat, so we wake up with an empty stomach and possibly return to bed hungry, honey we do not have or a car or fish or rice.
We remember other ‘pathetic moments’ of our life and we keep telling ourselves and others about them. We tell people many things about our self, both the good, bad and ugly
We say to ourselves and to others that we have gone through a lot in life. We shed tears. Our audience tends to console us, out of pity we keep on telling people about our past
Tries to force people to be there for us cries with us, and says we need healing. Now, imagine you were raised in a ‘rich home’, most of us tend to say things like; I grew up in a comfortable home
I always went on vacation to this cool place, things like that. The person who was raised in a ‘poor home’ tends to feel inferior and the person who was raised in a ‘rich home’ tends to feel superior.
Kill The Fake Mental State
That fake mental state can last a lifetime if you do not read this post! Both the ‘poor home’ and the ‘rich home’ guy end up miserable as there is no happiness in either state of mind, neither there is future in the past
In reality, your past may not determine your future if you recast it the right way. When you watch that show – “Naked and Afraid”, where they often drop a man and a woman naked in the jungle and film them as they try to survive without food for 21 days
Just the same way our ancestors tried to survive, you begin to realize that the house, the food, the clothes, and everything around you is just how humans have been trying to survive on earth.
Those things do not mean anything more than survival mechanisms. Cheap clothing, expensive clothe, a cheap house or an expensive house, cheap food, expensive food, those things mean nothing.
They fulfill the main purpose. They allow you to remain alive and see another day and try to survive the next day. Those things do not define you, do not change the fact that you still have any other thing that another human has, the brain, the blood, the body, the society, and any other extra thing that our time, or the result of our survival, provides

You can always have them if you start believing that there’s “no future in the past.” The person who grew up ‘rich’ falls also into the same trap, the belief that those things are anything more than survival.
When they no longer have those things, they may be stuck in life. The reality is that what we may define as “evolution” is simply our survival mechanism.
Nothing more. Nothing less. So wherever you are reading this from, the truth remains that there is no future in the past. there is no greater life in being worried about your past

The future is now and the only future is how you ‘recast’ or reframe ‘your reality.’ work on your today, be happy with what life has given you, strive to improve daily, and let go of the past, whether good or bad, you should try and forget the past and remember, In reality, your past may not determine your future if you recast it the right way.
