VERY SAD: NSCDC officer kills bus driver in Port Harcourt Rivers State Nigeria

On Tuesday the 8 days of June 2021. a member of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), working with the task force in the state shot a bus driver in Port Harcourt, Rivers State dead
The disease, A driver transporting people had his car hit by taskforce operatives working with the NSCDC after he prevented them from overtaking his bus.
After the hit, the driver insisted that his bus must be repaired by the members of the task force and the arguments and commotion that ensued afterward were what led to the shooting by one member of the NSCDC trying to escape from the crowd after the others had escaped and he was the only one in the scene
According to an eyewitness report, “The driver further called on his other colleagues who immediately joined him to demand the repair of his vehicle but as the task force and NSCDC officials objected to their demand, the situation became very tense.
“Consequently, the situation worsened when the security operatives engaged all the drivers in a battle.”
“The civil defense man escaped as the drivers scampered for safety following his gunshots. But the victim died while being conveyed to hospital.”
The incident caused a lot of traffic jams along with the Ada George, Location, and NTA roads, including the Mile 3 area within the state yesterday.
Responding to the incident, the Rivers State Police Command through its spokesman Nnamdi Omoni has said, “Yes, I am aware that an NSCDC officer attached to the state task force shot a commercial bus driver, but calm has returned to the area as our men have been mobilized there.”
